Health is defined by the World Health Organisation as ‘a complete state of physical, mental and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease’...’
As you may be aware Citizens Advice Bureau deliver Migrant Connect Sessions to communities, focusing on new migrants, former refugees but open to all. This first introductory online session is aimed towards our providers/colleagues in NPOs that focus on working with new migrants/former refugees to support developing awareness. We want to showcase to you who work with these communities, how CAB and Migrant Connect Sessions could support the work that you do.
The intent of this interactive and collaborative learning session is to share, discuss and develop awareness of various aspects of health and well-being. In order to keep it interesting and perhaps teach you something new we have chosen to address the topic of ‘Health’. We will look at various aspects of health and well-being, including aspects such as physical, nutritional, emotional, social, spiritual, intellectual, financial, and environmental. We will also look at some models of holistic health including Māori holistic model of health, te whare tapa whā.
From this session you will hopefully:
Understand more about how Migrant Connect works within the community
How a session could be delivered to your community, colleagues, clients
Learn something new about holistic models of health, te whare tapa whā
Whilst this session is aimed at providers, please feel free to share this information with anyone you believe would benefit from joining us..
