Thames Governance in Small Community Organisations

  • Thames Community Centre 609 MacKay Street Thames, Waikato, 3500 New Zealand (map)

Presented by Community Waikato and Sarah Gibb

(Optional 7.30pm finish time for extra information for Incorporated societies)

This free workshop will take you through the basics of governing small community organisations.

What is good governance? Many people take their place on boards and committees to support their organisation and realise they need to know more about their roles and responsibilities..

This workshop has been designed around the four functions of governance…

·       Strategic Direction

·       Stewardship, including Fiduciary Responsibilities

·       Stakeholder Relations and

·       Self-Maintenance

…with the intent of giving trustees and board or committee members a general feel for the role of governance and a framework for what they need to know to be effective in their governance role.

If you are an Incorporated Society, stick around and from 7.00 – 7.30pm we’ll discuss the implications of the new Incorporated Societies Act 2022.

Fully subsidised
