Understanding the Treaty of Waitangi

-     What does it mean for you & your work? 

Bringing the Treaty to life for professionals & citizens

Knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi’s intentions and implications is now required in most workplaces & professions.

This one-day workshop provides in-depth training & resources in a marae setting.

Participants will learn about:

·       Māori-Pākehā relationships from 1800s to the present

·       What the Declaration of Independence & Te Tiriti o Waitangi say

·       How the Treaty agreements apply to you personally and professionally.

Who should attend?

·       Anyone from a small workplace with no regular Treaty training

·       All those wanting to update their training portfolios

·       Newcomers with little or no knowledge of the treaty

·       Employers needing to meet quality or contract standards.

How will I benefit?

Participants receive a Certificate of Participation, posters, handouts and a copy of the informative resource ‘Treaty of Waitangi: Questions & Answers’ (2018). Further resources will be available for cash sale. Teas & lunch provided.

A follow up half day workshop will be provided on Wednesday 27 September 2023 @ Community Waikato to help you implement your learning into your workplace.

Graduates are also eligible to attend a Tiriti Facilitator Training course in Raglan in early November. a link will be provided for this on registration

Please come prepared to park roadside as the Marae carpark may not be available. Gather at the Marae gate by 8.30 to enter with your group, if it is raining we will let you know where you can gather.
