Fixed Term Community Advisor

Community Waikato is a values-based community organisation that supports, strengthens and advocates for community-based frontline social service, health, disability, community development, education and environment organisations’ in the Waikato region. Community Waikato is seeking a fixed-term, Community Advisor who is an exceptional facilitator and communicator, who is strategic, and solutions orientated, and is competent in providing excellent service under pressure. You should be a community development practitioner, adult educator and strategic thinker able to develop good working relationships and work in participative and facilitative ways with community organisations' to provide:
One-to-one support and advice on a wide range of organisational issues
Facilitation of training, planning, workshops and meetings
Coordination, networking, support with collaboration, organisational & project development.
You will need an appropriate tertiary qualification or equivalent experience, skills, knowledge and experience in the following areas:
Community development, social justice, strategic thinking, mentoring
Legal structures, financial systems, governance, management, planning, funding and organisational development in the community sector
Evaluation and analysis
Social service provision and community networks
Working within the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
This is a fixed contract for one year commencing in January 2021. This is a full-time role with flexible hours due to evening & weekend work. The role is based in Hamilton with travel required around the region.
