This workshop provides an overview of contemporary thinking about coaching and mentoring. This includes defining coaching and mentoring and the differences, the skills and experience required, self-knowledge, the special nature of the relationship between mentor and mentee, the importance of trust, and the value of quality conversations.

Therefore, the workshop focus is on:

1.       Theoretical basics of coaching/mentoring

2.       Building a tool kit

3.       Humans at work

4.       The Appreciative Inquiry approach

5.       Coaching growth mindsets

       Workshop outcomes – participants to know:

  • Themselves as coaches and/or mentors and how to work better with others

  • Why and when to coach/mentor – formal and informal

  • Good coaching and mentoring practice 

  • Their personalised coaching/mentoring ‘tool box’
