Some love it, some hate it. All need it. Feedback. Most people have mixed feelings about feedback based on their good and bad experiences. Everyone loves positive feedback but how hard is it to give and listen to criticism?
When someone says, “I’d like to give you some feedback” many people already brace themselves for what is going to come. A few inner eye-rolls and hopefully only an imagined sigh of “Ok, here it comes…”. It doesn’t need to be like that
Feedback is necessary and useful on so many levels. Why do many people struggle to give and ask for feedback? Why do we often avoid giving corrective feedback? How can I say that someone needs to lift their game, lost the plot, or is totally annoying without them feeling criticized?
